Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta

Aberdeen Asset Management Inc. is proud to sponsor the 74th annual Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta.

The prestigious regatta has been a Philadelphia tradition since its first race back in 1934 and is the largest intercollegiate rowing event in North America. Over 3,500 student-athletes from up to 120 colleges and universities in North America will compete on Philadelphia's National Race Course on the Schuylkill River on Friday, May 11th. On Saturday, May 12th, the qualifiers from the previous day will compete in the semi-finals and finals.

Two of Aberdeen’s own rowing teams will be participating in the Corporate Challenge race on Saturday, May 12th, and will be defending their 2011 Novice Boat Championship.

For the second consecutive year, WPVI (6ABC) will be televising the event in a 30- minute highlights show enabling viewers from the greater Philadelphia area to tune in and watch the best of the racing. ESPN3.com will be streaming the regatta live over the Internet for fans from around the world for four hours on Saturday afternoon from 1-5 pm.
